Jamese Kwele

FOR SCHOOL BOARD DIRECTOR

Jamese Kwele serves as Program Manager at The Food Trust, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that works to ensure everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions. Through her work on The Food Trust’s Consulting team, she develops and manages programs spanning a variety of areas including early childhood nutrition, farm to early care, and community health.

Jamese is also Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. She has a special interest in maternal-child health, in particular in addressing disparities in breastfeeding support in communities of color. Jamese serves on Maternity Care Coalition’s Community Breastfeeding Task Force.

She holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. She has lived in Lansdowne for over eight years. Her son is in 7th grade at Penn Wood Middle School and her daughter attends preschool in Lansdowne. Jamese is running for school board to help the district better serve children.
