Mary Walk, Register of Wills

Mary Walk is currently serving on Borough Council in Swarthmore. Mary’s lengthy experience as a lawyer and arbitrator dealing with complex financial and banking regulations, combined with her work on Borough Council, makes her highly qualified to serve as Register of Wills.

She will ensure that the Register of Wills office is run in a transparent and cost efficient manner. Mary will be responsive to citizens bereaved by the loss of a loved one, helping them work their way through the often confusing probate process.

Joanne Phillips, County Controller

Joanne Phillips is a partner at Ballard Spahr, LLP. As part of her long and distinguished legal career, she has managed the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s real estate portfolio under Governor Ed Rendell’s administration and worked in the Philadelphia Managing Director’s Office to advise on streamlining business and economic development processes. Her commitment to her local community is demonstrated through her past service on committees dedicated to parks and recreation in Delco and coaching soccer teams.

Kelly Eckel, Court of Common Pleas

Kelly Eckel is a partner at Duane Morris LLP. Kelly is an accomplished arbitrator and lawyer with 20 years of practical experience litigating countless cases and handling a wide range of disputes. Her significant experience as an arbitrator-presiding over hearings, resolving disputes over legal issues, making factual findings, and issuing awards-in a variety of cases for the past seven years has prepared her to be a skilled judge who will treat all parties with dignity and respect and administer the law in a fair and impartial manner.
