Jamese Kwele for School Board

Jamese Kwele serves as Senior Associate at The Food Trust, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that works to ensure everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions. Through her work on The Food Trust’s Consulting team, she leads multiple projects spanning a variety of healthy food access areas including early childhood nutrition, farm to school and regional food systems.

Jamese is also Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. She has a special interest in maternal-child health, in particular in addressing disparities in breastfeeding support in communities of color. Jamese serves as the Co-Chair of Maternity Care Coalition’s Community Breastfeeding Task Force.

She holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania and has lived in Lansdowne for nine years. Her son is in 8th grade at Penn Wood Middle School and her daughter attends preschool in Lansdowne. Jamese is running for school board to help the district better serve children.
